Yet another Great Performance and another defeat, the Luck must start to
change soon, Paul Wanless finally killing off His old club in the Last minute of
Injury time, Roll on Saturday and Beat the Cobblers.
-----------------------------------------------
We are Just Playing the Waiting game now for the News from the Council on the
New Stadium Saga, will there be a club next season or not.?????
We can only hope..
Tuesday March 27th
Good News Today For Firoz Kassam and All the Oxford Fans, The City Council have
come to an Agreement with Les Wells and Firoz Concerning the Right of Way and
Multiplex Saga's, They have not granted Full Backing Until Thursday Full Council
Meeting but the Signs are very hopeful of going through by Friday, Lawyers from
all Parties will sit down then and Hopefully Seal the Deals and then We can all
get on with the Rest of the Season and Start Looking forward to the Future,
Another BIG THANK YOU to Firoz Kassam for Stick in there,
You do have the Full backing of All U's Supporters, We Know that you have been
Messed about and Losing Money hand over fist, But at the End of the Day We all
Care for the Future of the Club.
Lets Hope that Friday Will Herald the Start of a New Era, We are Due a some good
news after all that has gone on off the Field and Especially what has Happened
on the Field, Start off with 3 Points at Cambridge tonight and Who knows what
sort of Lift it will give the Club.
----------------------------------------------------
The Team for Tonights trip to Cambridge should be Unchanged after the Great Win
over League Leaders Rotherham on Saturday, Matt Murphy is Back from Suspension
but Kemp is likely to stick to the 11 Hero's that start Saturday.
Lets' hope that the Game goes ahead after all the Rain we have had today,
Cambridges Abbey Stadium is not the Best Pitch in the Land, it is always Prone
to Floods as We found out last Season when we Reenacted the Boat Race on
what Looked like the Thames there was that much Water on the Surface, Good Luck
to the Boys, Another 3 Points and Put the Sh**ters on the Rest of them just
Above us.
MORE LATER.......
Monday March 26th
Again Well Done to the Boys for the
tremendous Win against the League Leaders on Saturday, I wonder How they
Celebrated the Win, Probably with Kemp telling them to go Home and Vote for Him
to be Manager Next Season Judging by the Amount of People Who have voted For
Him, Either that or Luton Town Fans Have been on This Is United voting for Him
so that He Does not go With Joe Kinnear Next Season, I sure as Hell know that
Real Oxford Fans Haven't Voted in there Poll, Get Real Kemp and Face Facts, You
won't be Here to Open the Account in the New Stadium, Because it's going to
be-New Ground, New Team, New Kit and We Hope New Manager.
Sunday March 25th
4-3 to the Oxford Boys, 2-1 to the
England Boys.
Oxford did themselves
Proud Today at Home to High Flying Rotherham, An early Kick off
because of the England game at 3pm was just the Tonic they needed, If
they can play like that then we will kick off at 1pm every Saturday.
Manny Omoyinmi was Superb up front with Andy Scott, Both Scoring there
First goals for the Club, Manny 1st was a good goal, but the 2nd was
something special, Sam Ricketts played the Long ball over the top for
Manny to run onto and with the Keeper well off His line Manny Lobbed Him
from all of 30 Yards, Before that though Robert Quinn scored His 1st
goal for the club since His £50,000 move from Brentford to make it 1-0
after only 6 Minutes, Then Rotherham pulled one back before Manny struck
His 1st for the Club, After the break-Which was a short one for
Rotherham-Oxford playing without Paul Powell who picked up a Knock in
the First Half went 3-1 up, Manny struck the Best Goal of the Game, His
2nd and Oxford's 3rd andnot long after Scott struck His 1st for the Club
since His £100,000 move from Brentford, Manny won a free kick just
outside the Area and from the kick Scott nipped in to Header the Ball
neatly across Goal giving the Keeper Gray no Chance, The Millers got
another goal back not long after which made for a shaky end to the game,
The Millers 3 Goals were very sloppy Goals, the 3rd Goal was very
unlucky for Knight who didn't have a bad game, It took a wicked
deflection sending Him the wrong way, Identical to the Finland Goal
against England less than an Hour later, But then England got the Result
too, a Great day was had all round, To See Oxford Win, a Quick
applause for a Great Display-Then a quick legit to the Brit in time to
see the Players lining up on the big screen for the Anthems and on to
another Great Win,
Afterward We had a trip to the New Stadium site which by that time was
Deserted and looking Very good with the Roofs on.
There will be Some Pics on site soon so stay tuned..
Man of the Match- Manny Omoyinmi, but Wayne Hatswell had an exceptional
Game.
Saturday March 24th
Below is the Message Posted from Firoz Kassam last night on the OUFC Website.
The
agreement between Oxford United chairman Firoz Kassam, local landowner Les Wells
and the Oxford City Council should lead to conditions on the land at the
club’s new stadium being lifted.
Mr Kassam said today: “If they are not, I will no longer support the football
club and will stop paying the contractors at Minchery Farm.
“I do not wish to make details of the agreement public today, but I am making
this statement because I promised to make my position clear by the end of this
week.
“Late last night (Thursday) the City Council, Les Wells and myself spoke at
length and I believe there is a proposal on the table which all parties should
be able to live with, and basically I’ve left it to the City to deliver their
side of the bargain.
“I want to make it very clear that the ball is very much in the City’s court
now. It is in the hands of the councillors and the officers, and if they can
deliver a document agreeing to this new deal by Wednesday then I will continue
to pay the contractors and the club. If not, then it is my intention not to pay
any further money to the contractors and to ask them to stop work on the site,
and it is also my intention not to continue supporting the club any further.
“It is vital that people understand The Manor Ground has already been
contractually sold with possession in August.
“The club will not have a home to play in if the new stadium is not completed.
Therefore, if there are any hiccups or delays it will put the club at risk. It
is up to the councillors now if they want the club to survive.
“In the time I have been at Oxford United I have poured millions into building
the new stadium while having no security of tenure. The land at Minchery Farm
still belongs to the City Council, and will remain so until the new stadium has
been completed. In the meantime, however, endless legalities and problems have
continually increased the financial burden on me.
“I had a conditional agreement with the City Council over the new stadium, but
I want it made unconditional now. I have spent millions building the stadium and
it has got to a stage where I am not prepared to take any more risks. I have
stuck to my side of the bargain without any guarantees or certainties from
anywhere. The only person who has taken a risk in all this is myself, and the
time had to come when I said enough is enough.
“I believe we have found a way forward and I don’t want things dragging on
for another month. I can’t keep throwing money at this site without having
some comfort that I will own it at some stage. And I want that settled by next
Wednesday.
“I wish to make it clear that, because matters are at a very delicate stage,
neither myself nor anyone at the club will be making any further statements
until after Wednesday.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
On
the Field today there will be a few changes for the Visit of Rotherham, Phil
Gray and Rob Folland being on International Duty, Andy
Scott, Robert Quinn and Chrissy Hackett are all available to Play again after
Injury-So the 4-4-2 system seems a cert, Lets Hope Scott can get a goal to give
the Fans a little Happiness in this Whaling Season.
I'm Sure the Fans will give a warm Welcome back to Brian (WILLLLLLLLLL)
Wilsterman, He had a great Rapore with the Fans when He was at the Manor and We
wish Him Luck with Rotherham, After Today that is.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
No Matter what Happens on Wednesday with the Land Deal, there will only be 4
Games Left at the Manor ground after today's game with Rotherham, It is time to
start Thinking about something special to do at the last game, Any idea's please
notify this website or the Club,
The Manor ground has been My 2nd Home for the Last 25 years and will miss it
very deeply when (IF) We Move , So We need to make the Last League game one to
Treasure, April 12th 1976 was My first ever game at the Manor and have seen a
lot happen in that time and Can't wait to Read Andy Howlands Book at the End of
the Season when We have Played the Final Game, It will be very Special..
Anyone wanting to get a Copy with there Name in the Book can get in Early by
subscribing to Andy Here andy@howland49.freeserve.co.uk

Thursday March 22nd
No Transfers at the Club today
in or Out, Firoz Kassam Said " We have enough Problems off the Field
without adding to them on the field".
Also Saying That this time next week there might not be a Football
Club,
Is He contemplating Leaving the Club ?
Is the New Stadium going to be Played in ?
Firoz is expected to make an announcement in the Next Week or so that
might or might not destroy the dreams of all the Oxford United
Fans, Seeing the New Stadium going up and looking very impressive, To
not be playing in there Next Season will be Devastating News, Please
Firoz, Don't pull out now, We Just Hope that Les Wells has a Heart and
Resolves the Rangle with the Council.
-----------------------------------------------
Still Don't know Why John Aldridge hasn't been appointed Manager yet, If
Kemp is Still at the Manor next Season we will be heading for the
Conference League, Watch out Witney Town we will be passing you in a few
years...:-)
We Need to Stop the rot and there is only one way out...........
Sunday March 18th
Sorry again for the Lack of
Update, Here are some pics from Minchery Farm taken last Saturday before the
game against....God there Name was on the tip of my tongue....Oh thats it, I
spat it out..:-)

Saturday March 17th
Sorry Folks but I have
experienced Server Problems and Computer Problems in the last Week, Back now and
raring to go though, Not missed much over the last week though have I..?
Not been much to write about..:-)
Anyway, Back with some good news, Firoz Kassam and Les Wells have Done a Deal
that will solve all the Hold ups that was threatening the new Stadium, All that
needs Sorting out now is the Council, Will they agree to the Deal..?
Or will the Council now throw a spanner into the work..?
We will have to wait and See on Monday, Good News though that Les and Firoz have
come to an agreement, Shows that Firoz means business as He must be having to
cough up some more cash to solve the Rangle..
Well done Firoz and Thank you Les if the deal goes through, afterall this
time-all we want is a new Stadium.....Though we will be playing Div 3 footy in
it.
-----------------------------------------------
This Season looks like dragging on and on after yet another cancellation due to
the dreaded Weather, Kenilworth Rd being flooded today adding to the Huge back
log of games United have to play between now and May 4th.
-----------------------------------------------
Perhaps We can get rid of Dave Kemp and Get John Aldridge back as Manager, He
resigned as Manager of Tranmere today, Mr Kassam there is your man, A legend at
the Manor and a proven Manager, How we would love to see Him back at the Manor,
Though it would only be for a short time, Tranmere have had a great run in the
cups this season, but there league position has dipped and they are bottom of
Div 1, His resignation today though was a huge shock, Come on Aldo, You know you
want to come back to the Manor....Pick up the Phone...<g>.
Saturday March 10th
Just a Quick Hello first-To Steve and Dave-Decorators I have been
working with this week, They are Just getting into Computers, Thanks for
Visiting this Site Boys, See You Monday.
------------------------------------------------
So The Big Day Has Arrived,
Oxford vs The Scum, The last ever game between these 2 teams at the Manor
Ground, Can We beat them and salvage some pride before the end of the Season.?
The U's will be without Andy Scott who is still in Considerable pain after being
Punched in the face at Wrexham.
Wayne Hatswell and Darren Patterson will both be fit after having stitches to
head wounds after the defeat on Tuesday, Steve Anthrobus will probably replace
Scott for todays game,
Paul Powell should be in the Team, He is the subject of a move to West Brom for
what is disclosed as between £250,000+£500,000 plus Oxford receiving a player
aswell, What a wonderful player He must be at that price, So lets hope that
Powelly can do well today and Put Himself in the shop window, Though We would
prefer Him to stay at Oxford for good.
---------------------------------------------------
Will take a trip to the New Stadium today, apparently the roof is going on and
the site is looking quite Impressive, Please go along and take a look, there
Should be Pictures on this site by Sunday/Monday at the Latest.
Thursday March 8th
Sorry for not
having this site up to date this week, My uploader server was down,
Sincere Apologies from United We Stand.
-----------------------------------------------------
Oxford Might have a Familiar Face on the Terraces watching the Game This
Saturday, Dave Crabtree could be making a welcome Return to Cheering on the
Boys Since He Departed for Pastures new, Welcome Back Dave,
Hope your Presence spurs them on to Win.
-----------------------------------------------------
So Oxford
might have Andy Scott back for the Scumdon Game on Saturday, He was
Punched in the face at Wrexham on Tuesday night and was furious that it
went unnoticed by the Referee and His assistants.
------------------------------------------------------
So the Seats in the New Stadium will be Multi Coloured, is Firoz Kassam
getting a job lot or is He just covering His options so that the Stadium
can be used for Any sports, There will be NO writing in the Seats
Either, So Having
" Yes We Have Finally Finished It" written in them is out of
the Question, Reports are that each seat will be a different colour to
the next one, None will be Red (Scum).
So Which Stadium is Missing there Seats.?*lol*.
-----------------------------------------------------
Oxford vs Port Vale (Horton Out) has again been re-arranged
because Vale are in the Northern Final of the Mickey Mouse Cup, We will
have to wait to Find out the new date.

Tuesday
March 6th
Same old Story, Can We ever hold on to a lead?
5-3 Defeat at Wrexham tonight after playing so well for most of the game,
Worrying Point was the Loss of Andy Scott-Who was knock unconscious and was
carried off in the 2nd Half, He seemed to get a Punch in the face and has a huge
swelling under one of His eyes, He is now seething as He was badly treated and
the Referee gave Him nothing, He is very sore but was on His feet after the game
and is now a big worry for the Derby game on Saturday at the Manor, If His eye
doesn't swell over and shut then He will be ok.
Oxford went ahead through a Phil Gray Penalty after Dean Whitehead was brought
down, but then as usual they gave away a goal, It took Richard Knight by
surprise-He stood no chance, Oxford then went ahead again in the 2nd half
through Paul Powell- Scoring from 6 yards, But then yet again the U's threw it
away again.!
Back to 2-2 Oxford put on the pressure and restored the Lead through Matt
Murphy- But then..........You Guessed it, Oxford then gave another goal away,
this time in spectacular fashion, Trundle getting His Hat Trick from all of 40
yards with Knight well out of His area, Protests for offside went unnoticed by
the Ref though, Oxford then fell apart and it was good night sweetheart, Wrexham
then added a 4th from a Penalty spot and then a 5th and made it a long way home
for the 250 Oxford Fans who made the trip North on a cold-Wet and Horrible
Tuesday night.

Sunday March 4th
Kemp Pays the Penalty
Richard Knight Knight Knight,
Are you watching David Kemp,
Just a Couple of songs sung by the Noisy away following from Oxford,
Richard Knight was outstanding, Probably the best game He has had in an
Oxford shirt since He has been at the club, He kept the U's in the game
with some great saves,
His handling of the ball and His kicking were 1st class-winning
everything that Bristol threw at Him, Kemp was Eating humble Pie after
the game saying" Knighty was superb, He really Kept us in the
game"
Pity that Kemp has waited so long to have
to find out that Knighty is a good Keeper, Too little too late for
Oxford though.
To save the Penalty in the manner that He did was unbelievable, With 5
minutes of Injury time played and seconds on the clock the Referee
decided that Jon Richardson had handled the ball in the area and Pointed
to the spot, After the display the U's had put in to lose to that
penalty would have broke the hearts of everyone connected with Oxford,
Knight wasn't having it though, diving to His right to stop the ball in
it's tracks, The U's Fans went into Hysteria, and then really sung there
hearts out for the Players, Kemp did not like what we were singing
though and looked disgusted as He looked down to our stand, Knight had
Won us the Point,
Oxford had there chances to win this game just as much as Bristol though
and won full praise from Danny Wilson the Robins boss, He said
"They battled for there Point and could even have snatched
it", after Dean Whitehead's Thunderous 25 yard shot rattled the
crossbar the U's were really on top of the game and the Bristol Defence
were all over the place.
Overall the display by the whole team was great, Phil Gray ran His socks
off up front on His own, Andy Scott got kicked all over the park, Paul
Powell picked up what Looked like an ankle injury after getting caught
in the net,
at times the defending was bad but they battled to keep the ball out.
Knight though was by far the Star of the Show.
So Kemp, Stick that up your pipe and smoke it.
Friday March 2nd

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oxford have to wait until Next
Week to find out if Les Wells has the right to Stop People traveling
over His land to get to the New Stadium, What the Hell does He want,
What about people who have been traveling along that road since it has
been opened, Is He going to Stop Thousands of People who live at Greater
Leys and Blackbird Leys passing over His land to get Home or Has He just
got the Grudge with Oxford United and Football, Forget the Council-His
Gripe is beyond them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Richard Knight and Paul Powell are both back in the Team for the trip to
Bristol City's Ashton Gate Tomorrow afternoon-Weather Permitting, Richard
Knight has the chance to put the mistake at Chester behind Him and win
the Manager over, Kemp has had a grudge with Knighty over His decision
to lie down outside the area and let His fellow team mates struggle to
clear the ball, Chester scored and went on to win the game, since then
Knighty has not played.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is only Oxfords 2nd away game on a Saturday This Year because of
the bad weather, Oxford nearly always come away from the city with a
Point, So a Point Tomorrow will be nice-3 would be better though.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dean Windass could be on the Move to Middlesborough for a fee of around
1 Million Pounds, If the Fee was to go over the Million mark then Oxford
would gain some cash from a sell on clause, With Oxford's luck it will
be under and they will lose out again, We did not get enough for Him
when He left for Bradford City, Same with all the Players who have left
the Manor in the Past to go to pastures New.

Thursday March
1st
Oxford Have been waiting today for the outcome of the Court case
to decide on the Right of way saga being disputed by Les Wells.
If that does not stop the Stadium being built He will have another go in
April-The Judicial Review is Then to try and get the Multiplex Cinema
plans overturned.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Richard Knight is looking forward to the Weekends game at Bristol City,
It gives Him a chance to show Manager Kemp that He was wrong to leave
Him out of the Team, He made a silly mistake at Chester City and Has not
played since.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Young Reserve Team drew at Home to Crystal Palace 2-2 last night
in Snowy conditions, Sam Ricketts got the 1st goal and Jamie Brooks got
the 2nd, all goals coming in the 1st half, neither team could must a
goal in the 2nd half, But overall a fine display by the players of the
future.
