Saturday 31st May 2003 Happy Birthday to My Misses and My Brother who both celebrate their Birthday's today, 31st of May............... Season Ticket applications came through today, what are they trying to say to me........:-) Yes Finally back from our short break down on the coast, not much has happened since I have been away, Dave Savage is a shock target of Bristol Rovers, Steve Basham is a target of 2nd Division Wycscum Wally's, Still no news of any players coming in................................................................................................. It looks like another war is about to start, between Firoz Kassam and the Oxford Mail, only a war of words though, Lets hope that all parties can kiss and make up long before the new season starts, the last thing Oxford want is a conflict at the start of a campaign, that is what will hinder the players confidence on the field more than anything, The Oxford Mail are a major sponsor at the Kassam Stadium, they are a vital part of the clubs future, But then again Firoz Kassam IS the clubs future............Get it sorted and Quick. Tuesday 27th May 2003 Oxford have put Jefferson Louis on the Transfer list, his name has been circulated to all the other teams in the football league, so it looks very unlikely that the Hero against Scumdon will be an Oxford player for the coming season. Sunday 25th May 2003 Here is a round up of the news at Oxford United this week, I have been busy at work this week, but now have a week off, Bliss............ Oxford Finally change the name of the RED bar upstairs in the Quadrangle to the HEADINGTON BAR after talks with Supporters group OX VOX................ Oxford announce that season ticket prices will be the same as last season, but no Oxford fans will be allowed in the North stand, only away fans will be in that stand................. Went to Merthyr Tidfil on Thursday to see Scott Guyett and Wayne Hatswell play for the Semi Pro England Team, Lee Jarman played for the Wales Team, was a good game with England winning 2-0, though Wales played very well in the 2nd half, England won with a goal in each half, the 2nd a penalty, in the directors lounge was a pennant from Oxford, looked like it was from the 80's............. Scott is going to Hong Kong on his way home to see his folks in Australia for a few weeks, Hope he doesn't catch the SARS virus.................. Your Fine Editor Wins the bidding for the Sticker Album signed by the whole team, Chris Williams then says that if he knew I was going to win he would have made me put the stickers in myself, Took him hours to stick all the stickers in, he was not amused............................... Wednesday 21st May 2003 Is anyone interested in going to the England vs Wales Semi Pro match at Merthyr Tydfil Tomorrow??? The teams are made up of Non League players, Scott Guyett, the Ex United Defender and Friend of mine is the Captain of England, So the more support the better, there are 2 games to go after England beat Rep of Ireland 4-0 yesterday, Tomorrow will feature Another Ex united player in the Wales team, LEE JARMAN. Last year we went to Kettering to watch the Tournament between England and Scotland, which also featured Wales and Ireland, We had a great day and the game was good, well worth watching, Mark Angel and Simon Weatherstone played and Weatherstone scored. need more info, contact me through the site. Went to Villa Park on Sunday to watch Burscough vs Tamworth, had a great day out in Brum, Ex Villa favourite Shaun Teale was Victorious with his team as Burscough won 2-1 against a Tamworth side containing Steve Walsh, the Ex Leicester defender, There was a great atmosphere with the 14,000+ crowd singing non stop. Oxford have added another Friendly to the list released last week, Nuneaton away will be played on the 23rd July, Oxford took a team their last season, around the same time of the year. Oxford are waiting for a reply from Andy Scott and Steve Basham on whether they are going to except the contracts they have been offered on reduced terms, Firoz Kassam is confident they will sign, He is also Confident that Player of the year Dave Savage will be an Oxford player next season too.
