Sunday 24th November 2002 what a bummer that the game had to be called off yesterday, We had got as far as Andoversford near Cheltenham when Chris Williams called to say that the pitch was under an inch and a half of water, I could hardly see the road ahead it was raining that hard when we drove over the cotswolds, we had visions of this happening as we are getting close to December, Typical though that this was the only game called off in the whole country, so we diverted and went to Sixfield, Northampton Town were playing Port Vale, So guess who was playing..?, Yes Marco Gabbiadini vs OOh Johnny Lager, battle of the fat boys, oh and not forgetting HORTON OUT!!!. we got there at around 2pm and met up with some more Oxford fans there, yes, Womble was there with Adrian and another couple of Oxford fans, as well as Myself, Laurence and Boyo, must admit that the game was entertaining for the £17 it cost to get in, £2 for a programme, £2 for a badge and £1.10 for a cup of Hot chocolate.
![]() Gabbi the Donkey (10) after scoring one of his 2 goals Durnin at full pace against the Cobblers Yesterday was a mad panic for lots of United fans after the game was called off, most tried to find another game, 20 went to Villa park to see Villa and West ham, 3 went to Sheffield Weds and lots went to Reading, as well as the 7 of us that went to Sixfield to see the Cobblers beat the Vale. And before you say that I am insane, Steve Anthrobus scored this weekend for TNS of Wales, Never thought I would report that again, hope it is the last time........... Wednesday 20th November 2002 Tickets are going well for the FA Cup 2nd round match against our Wiltshire rivals, around 2500 were sold today after they went on sale this morning at 9am, they are on open sale, but season ticket holders have their seats reserved for them until November 29th, If they have not purchased it by then, then their seat will be sold to someone else, Our opponents have been given 2880 tickets for the TV match, they will probably not sell all of those, they have not been supported well away, but you would have thought that a game like this would have brought them in their droves. With the prospect of Oxford getting around £250,000 from the BBC and Gate receipts for this pending cup match, you would have thought that it might have been a good stepping stone for the deal to be done to bring Adi Viveash to the club on a permanent basis, hopefully he will be signed to play against his former employees. Tuesday 19th November 2002 Oxford's match against arch enemy Swindon (sorry for swearing) Town scheduled for Saturday 7th December , will now be played on Sunday 8th December so that it can be broadcast live on BBC1 at 1pm, This is great news for the club and the people of Oxford, this game could be sold 2 or 3 times over for the Oxford fans, So with it being on the TV will reduce the disappointment for those who can't get a ticket, though being there is far much better. Gareth Davis and Amanda Llewellyn who are both Oxford United fans are in Azerbaijan this week for the Wales world Cup Qualifier, I received a text today from Amanda, Saying that they were in a pub in Azerbaijan which is an English bar, The Bar has an Oxford United shirt on the wall, Small world hey.. we get everywhere..!!!! Most of you will know Gareth from his flag at the Kassam stadium which had a welsh dragon on, he now has a new one, You can see the new flag in the group of pictures below, Oxford Exiles More news later Monday 18th November 2002 OXFORD UNITED vs SWINDON TOWN at the Kassam stadium, what a game, Big local derby, Oxford will trounce them, God have we prayed for this match, finally we have the chance to do the scum at the Kastad.. Tickets will go like hot cakes for this match, so keep your eyes peeled for news this week, Still can't believe it...........YESSSSSSSSSSSS.
