Next Match-..........Away to Dover Saturday 16th November 2002 Kick off 3pm F A CUP 1st Round.................................
                                                               Sunday 10th November 2002
Kemp out, Kemp out, Kemp out, Yes David Kemp has been sacked from his post as chief scout at the Walkers Bowl at Leicester, news of this was in the matchday programme yesterday for Leicester's home game with Walsall which the Foxes won 2-0.
Let's just hope that he doesn't try and come back to Oxford, Perhaps he should apply for a job down the road,
He and Scumdon are made for each other.

Apparently Ian McCaldon was called back from going to Stockport on Wednesday night after a call from Ian Atkins,
I spoke to big Eagle before the Villa game on Wednesday and He told Me He was going to Stockport,
he got halfway and stopped to get something to drink and received a call from Atkins telling him to come back,
that was after the display that Woody made, though Woody made up for the mistakes he made the other night and some on Saturday against Rochdale.

Russ " Bouyo" Williams has been spared crucifying himself tonight as Sunderland actually won against Tottenham 2-0,
Well done Russ, the Super Bitch didn't spoil your whole weekend.....................

As reported yesterday, Ex United Keeper Phil "your God agggghhhhhaaaaa" Whitehead was at the Kassam to watch
the U's record their 3rd Home win of the season, He is currently still employed by Reading, but is not featuring at the moment,
wonder if he is after another go at Oxford??
Your god aggghhhhaaaa!!!!!

Players celebrate Basham's goal

                                                               Saturday 9th November 2002
The U's beat Former United player Paul Simpson's Rochdale 2-0 this afternoon at the Kastad, A great individual goal from James Hunt and another from Steve Basham saw of the Dale, though it could have been a hat full, Dean Whitehead seeing a 40 yard
rocket hit the bar, no goal keeper would have stopped that one, shame it didn't go in, that would have been the best goal ever at the Ground, Every player out there  today deserves credit of some sort, they were all outstanding, we actually passed the ball with flair and even looked like we were going to score, unlike the last two games.
Great to see Andy Woodman keeping a clean sheet after the mishap in the week, he is a great keeper and deserved the win today more than anyone, he is loved by the fans and they showed it today.

Nice to see another Ex United keeper at the Kassam stadium today, Phil Whitehead, A picture will appear here later.

Oxford face a familiar face today, Ex Oxford wing legend Paul Simpson returns with his Rochdale team,
Simmo will get a great reception from the U's fans and I for one would be upset if he didn't.
Oxford go into the game with the same injury worries that we had before the Villa game, though Andy Scott may feature,
So too might Bobby Ford, but that is a long shot, speaking of shots, perhaps we will have more than one on target today,
Rochdale have leaked a few goals this season, which means they will keep a clean sheet today with the voodoo of the
Kassam Stadium haunting us, still reckon we need the bishop back to bless the pitch again, or is it the players that need blessing..?
Chris Hackett will be missing today as he starts his suspension for the sending off at the Kassam against Shrewsbury,
yes that infamous Joe Ross sealing his fate on that day, so we will miss Chrissy.

U's boss Ian Atkins is to face a 6 match touchline ban, that takes effect at the start of December, he was more concerned about
who is going to pay his mobile bill with all them calls down to the dugout than the ban, this ban is a result of supposedly shouting and abusing the 4th official at Bristol City during the Worthington Cup match just over a month ago, even though Atkins had written evidence in his favour, he still got the ban, he is unlikely to appeal as this sometimes makes things worse, Atkins does normally stay up in the directors box during the first half anyway at the Kastad, but it is away from home that it will effect him the most.

Sam Stockley has finally gone to Colchester United then, the on off saga has finally been resolved and he joins them on a contract
until the end of the season, good luck to the lad, what has been resolved about the sell on clause is unknown, with Oxford still owing Barnet £50,000 for Stockley anyway, there must be some sell on involved.
Sam will go into the team next week to play against his former team mates, Colchester take on Chester City in the FA Cup 1st rd,
Scott Guyett is now looking forward to that one as he is good friends with Sam.

With Andy Woodman having a nightmare the other night, it is a surprise that Ian McCaldon is being allowed to go to Stockport County on loan for a month, Big Eagle must have been licking his lips at the mistakes that Woody has made recently, that after being the hero of October, Woody though was the first to hold his hand up for the mistakes, I saw him in the tunnel after the game on Wednesday night and he was inconsolable.

                                                               Thursday 7th November 2002
Oxford were cruelly beaten 3-0 last night by an Aston Villa team who were as shot shy as we were,
Only 2 blunders by Charlton hero Andy Woodman got Villa on the road to victory, until then they never got a sniff,
The Oxford defence were keeping things tight until around the 70 minute mark, then things all fell apart.
This was the best match so far at the Kastad, 12,177 people made it a great atmosphere, Villa sold all of their allocation
in the north stand.

The Oxford stewards and the Police had there work cut out last night at the Kassam Stadium when the Aston Villa fans went on
the rampage inside the North Stand,  smashing down the central divide between the home and away fans, they also went on
the rampage in the car park at Halftime, in full view of the Press box.
Louis being tugged Smile we are still drawing one of a couple of shots

                                                               Tuesday 5th November 2002
Oxford will be down to the bare bones again for the visit of Aston Villa in the Worthington Cup,
Steve Basham will be doubtful, likewise with Manny and David Oldfield, Bobby Ford is definitely out,
Sam Stockley who is back after his 2 month loan spell at Colchester could be on the bench as cover for the huge injury list.

Fan are advised to arrive early, as the carparking will be depleted by the Conference which is talking place in the Conference suite.

Oxford reserves lost 4-1 yesterday afternoon against Reading in a hastily arranged fixture to get some fitness levels
back before the Villa game, it was arranged mainly for Steve Basham, but he didn't even play,  Gavin Gordon did play,
but not for long, he got into a tussle with an opposing player and wasn't long after that when he was told by the ref to be subbed
or be sent off for supposedly punching a Reading player out.

                                                              Monday 4th November 2002
Happy Birthday to my Son Bradley who is 8 Years old today, He will hopefully be cheering on the Yellows on Wednesday
night when they take on the Villa in the Cup.
What a weekend we had, we only got back at 9.15pm on Sunday night from Carlisle, well not quite from Carlisle,
we had a 7 hour journey on the way back, taking in Hadrians wall, before going across to the Angel of the North at Gateshead.
We stayed in a Hotel in Carlisle the night and bumped into a few rowdy Oxford fans in Carlisle on Saturday night,
who were all very upset at the way the team played on Saturday afternoon, Considering the fans had made the long journey
up from Oxford, the fans thought the team would have atleast put up a little fight during the match, but all the fans left the game
cheated out of their hard earned cash and weekend time.
Most wanted to know why we had 3 strikers on from the start and not one of them mustered a decent shot on target during the first 45 minutes, Basham replaced  Gordon after halftime, Hackett came on Later and showed lots of skill, something the U's fans
had been waiting for all the game, too little too late by then though, Hackett was scathed down by Summerbell in the 73rd minute
and received his 2nd yellow and the red, but though Carlisle were down to 10 men, Oxford just plodded along like the
game was already won, Oxford were always second best at everything, Roddy Collins the Carlisle Manager had obviously got his Brother, Ex World champion boxer in to install a little bit of fight into his team, pity we didn't put up any fight what so ever,
We threw in the towel from the start, kept slipping on the canvas, kept ducking and looked ropey.
So a 33rd minute goal from Magil was enough to knock the stuffing out of Oxford, Atkins was quick to say that he had no excuses what so ever for his team after that display, the sooner we have Bobby Ford back in the team the better, "He said",
We had no creativity in the team, the front men didn't have any moment in them, though he thought the defence was pretty solid again, as for having Aston Villa on their minds, Atkins didn't think that was the case, only saying that he told the players,
" If you want to be playing in this division again next season and like losing games like this, then we will carry on losing stay where
we are", They need to decide whether they are up for this or not, Atkins said that he is, whether the players aren't or not,
He will not let them blow what started out to be a good season.
The lucky blue shirt was not used again, because of Carlisle playing in Blue shirts, that is now 2 away on a trot that blue wasn't used and the U's lost, is it really the shirt, or are we just lucky/crap, answers now please.

                                                              Friday 1st November 2002
With Sam Stockley signing for Colchester United full time, it now opens the way for Adrian Viveash to sign for Oxford
permanently, that will be a great boost to the fans, as Adi has been a rock in the defence since his arrival.
Ian Atkins is trying to secure the services of Gavin Gordon for another month, as cover to all the injured strikers we still have,
if Cardiff will allow him to stay, he will play tomorrow at Carlisle, the players leave this afternoon.
Steve Basham will probably be on the bench tomorrow, Andy Scott is still ill, Manny is still sidelined and David Oldfield
will be missing with a hambstring injury.

Oxford fans have been voted the ugliest in the football league, must have been some even uglier b****rds  that done the
survey, we have definitely seen some ugly fans on our travels, but Oxford fans the ugliest, Not a chance...........
They obviously didn't go to the County Ground in Scumdon, they probably got as far as the Manchester Road and were
diverted, wonder where.???????
