Sunday 20th October 2002 So the Unbeaten run away from Home stayed intact yesterday at inform Cambridge, with Andy Scott getting the all important equalizer on 81 minutes after Shane Tudor had scored on 28 minutes for the other U's with a half volley, That was will probably be a contender for their goal of the season, Take nothing away from them, it was superb, But the way Oxford rallied back had to impress the 793 Travelling fans who again continued their great support away from the Kassam Stadium, The stand that the Oxford fans were in would have taken pride of place at the Kastad to fill up that blank end, that stand was the only decent part of the ground. ![]() Wednesday 16th October 2002 Oxford's reserve match with Cambridge was completely washed out after the bad rain we had yesterday, Court place farm was under water, so Steve Basham's return has been delayed again. Oxford will most definitely be without 6 Strikers on Saturday at Cambridge, Looking more and more likely that Jefferson Louis will make his first start for Oxford alongside David Oldfield. Tickets for the Aston Villa match are going well, Supporters who go to the Bournemouth match next week in the LDV Vans trophy can use that ticket stub to get a ticket for the Villa game, they will be able to get their ticket after that match up until the Shrewsbury game a week Saturday. Tuesday 15th October 2002 Oxford winning at the weekend didn't just help them up the table in Division 3, they helped my Dream Team in the Daily Star Soccer competition, out of over 50,000 managers in the competition, I am currently lying in 75th place 9940 points, only 93 points behind the 50th place manager, with no premiership or 1st division teams playing, Points were very low, hopefully this weekend I will get the points to get me into the top 50 and in the newspaper. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oxford have a striker crisis for the trip to Cambridge on Saturday, With Andy Scott, Manny Omoyinmi, Gavin Gordon, Lee Steele, Steve Basham and Jamie Brooks all on the injured list, we will have just Jefferson Louis and David Oldfield fit to play at the Abbey Stadium, though Basham might get half a game in the reserves this week, weather permitting, Jefferson Louis does really deserve a chance to start a match and show everyone just what he can do, after coming on as sub in the Charlton game and the Swansea game and winning both the matches for the U's, it would be great for him to get a full 90 minutes under his belt, Another player who should get a chance to start is Chris Hackett, He ran Swansea ragged when he came on in the 2nd half on Saturday, His cross finding Louis for the winning goal. Monday 14th October 2002 Happy Birthday to Me....................Had a great day out yesterday, courtesy of Scott Guyett and Chester City, Everyone at Chester made us feel very welcome yesterday, They drew 1-1 with Gravesend & Northfleet. We arrived early at the ground, met Eagle (Ian McCaldon) straight away, he was shocked to see me, He actually played and to be honest, didn't have the best of games, making a few mistakes, Probably why he didn't venture into the players bar after the game, Mark Wright threw a wobbly after the way they played, Chester had approximately 25 attempts on goal, only bad finishing and even worse finishing keeping the scoreline down. Gravesend had a man sent off late on, the ref booked 6 from G&N and sent one off, none from Chester, which was a miracle, as Wayne Hatswell should have had an early bath for one challenge, G&N also had a player carried off with what looked like a broken leg, Phil Bolland was impressive as ever, why we let him go is still a mystery, Scott Guyett was out with an ankle injury, but will be back in next week, Scott really looked after us, he got us complimentary tickets and got us into the Players bar at half time and full time, well his girl friend took us in at Half time, Full Time we saw ex Liverpool, Spurs and Scumderland player, Paul Stewart in the bar, he was guest of Mark Wright, I also had a chat to Wayne Hatswell, his girl friend and his father in the bar, they all made us feel welcome and would like to thank them on here for making our short time there very nice. Pity that when we were in the bar, there was an announcement over the PA, for the lack of dress code in the bar, "Please can you note that this bar is purely smart dress, Tie, Trousers and jackets etc, Not Trainers, Jeans and T-Shirts" Hey Russ, Tut Tut................................................ One thing spoilt the day, 4 and a half hours to get back, the M6 was jammed all the way back, plus with the rain and high winds, the journey was not good at all, but it was worth it, Just.!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() I have adapted this picture to correct the advertising banner above the stand, Could not have a Charlton Badge on the end....... 10 Pictures for the Fans who were at The Valley on Tuesday, You were superb, soon I hope to have a picture of the bloke behind the camera, Me, wearing that hideous Charlton badge on that Blue Press Jacket, Good job I had my Oxford shirt on underneath, Honest I did.......!!!!
