Next Match-..........Home to Swansea City Saturday 12th October 2002-Kick off 3pm..............
                                                Saturday 5th October 2002
Oxford were brought down to earth today by Scunthorpe United, they beat the U's 1-0 at the Kassam
with a 2nd half penalty that gave penalty hero Andy Woodman no chance.
Before the game, news that Oxford had drawn Aston Villa in the 3rd Round was superb,
I was in Executive Box 5 with my brother Grayson when the draw was done, Ian Atkins was in Box 6 watching the
draw with Firoz Kassam's daughters and friends, everytime a big team was drawn he turned and looked at us and said
"They will do", first Arsenal, then Liverpool, then Man Utd, Then we were drawn out at Home, He turned to me and could
not look at the screen, when he heard Aston Villa he leapt up in the air will delight, turned around with fist clenched
and said to us" YES", he is a Birmingham man, so was very happy, he then ran down to the dressing room to tell the players, judging by the way the team played today, they will be wishing the game was played away, where has the team spirit at home gone????.
The game started off ok, Gavin Gordon making his home debut looked strong and hungry for the ball,
Andy Scott looked back to his normal self, until he got a bad knock again, after that he was never the same,
He must be covered in bruises from head to toe.

Good news today though about Jamie Brooks, He got back from his Holiday yesterday and looked very well indeed,
He is back in very light training, he has put on more weight and is feeling very good in himself, he cannot waite to get
back out on to the field, It will still be a little time before we see him playing, but the signs are very good for the future,
maybe this season we will see him after all, Fingers crossed for him and for the club and fans.

                                                Friday 4th October 2002
Oxford today lost another player to Mark Wright at Chester City, The Big Eagle has flown the nest,
Ian McCaldon the Tall U's keeper has joined for a month on loan, He becomes the 4th Player from the Wright
team at Oxford last season to join him in his quest for promotion to the league, After Scott Guyett, Phil Boland,
Wayne Hatswell, McCaldon joins the crew, Though he could be back if anything happens to Andy Woodman.

Lets hope that the game tomorrow does not end the way it did last season against Scunthorpe at the Kassam,
The players and management involved in the sendings off have gone, lets just hope that the abused Joe Ross is
not officiating this game again, as there is going to be enough fireworks with Ian Atkins and Brian Laws coming
face to face after bad matches between them in the past.

Oxford's Andy Scott wasn't the only Scott to have bad luck on Tuesday night in the Cup,
Rob Scott, Andy's Brother Playing for Rotherham, scored the Own goal of the season against Wolves,

Trying to clear the ball for a corner, he booted the ball past his keeper into the top right hand corner of his own net,
It was a goal his Brother Andy would have been proud of.

Ex Oxford Manager and Legendary defender, Malcolm Shotton, is currently working as Manager of
Loughborough University's 2nd team, Thank you to Matt Everett, who is studying there for the Information,
He wants Leicester in the next round of the cup, as he is 10 minutes from the Walkers Bowl.

I have adapted this picture to correct the advertising banner above the stand,
Could not have a Charlton Badge on the end.......

10 Pictures for the Fans who were at The Valley on Tuesday, You were superb, soon I hope to have a picture of
the bloke behind the camera, Me, wearing that hideous Charlton badge on that Blue Press Jacket,
Good job I had my Oxford shirt on underneath, Honest I did.......!!!!
Anyone wishing to Purchase the full sized Pictures, please email this site.

                                               Wednesday 2nd October 2002
Last night was a night to savour, Oxford beating Premiership Charlton in the Worthington Cup 6-5 on penalties,
after taking 9 penalties each, I was sat behind the goal to which the penalties were being taken,
there was a mass of Photographers there, with myself wedged in the middle, Out of all of them,
I was probably the only one that wanted to jump up and Scream with delight when Jefferson Louis scored that
winning Penalty, I had my camera equipment packed ready and no sooner the ball was in I was running to the
Away end to catch the emotions of the huge band of travelling Oxford Fans, They were tremendous all night,
even though they had there night spoiled by the heavy handedness of the Police, It was a night that
Oxford's loyal fans had been waiting for for some time, Made me realise how much I missed being in the stands
on occasions like that, but then being down on the pitch level was as special as being in the stand,
Having the Hero of the night Andy Woodman run up to you and give you highfives after the final whistle makes
you feel part of the team and I wouldn't give that up for anything.
This site this week is dedicated to the hordes of Yellow (Blues) fans that travelled to South London for the
highlight of this great season so far, Pictures of the crowd will be appearing here, If any of you recognise Yourselves
in the Pictures and want a Print, Please contact this site for further details.

Andy Scott, who was carried of last night with Severely Bruised Ribs, was feeling very fragile after the game,
Myself and Chris Williams saw him outside the ground waiting for the other players, He looked in mighty pain,
But nothing could stop him from Giving one of the biggest smiles of the night, He was obviously disappointed about
getting injured and having to be carried from the field so early in the game, early considering that 120 minutes was played,
But it didn't mean he wasn't happy for the rest of the lads, How long he will be out, if he is going to be out, is not known,
He could even be back in on Saturday for the visit from Scunthorpe.
Scott wasn't the only person to come out of that challenge injured, Richard Rufus also Injured his own Keeper,
Dean kiely.

                                               Monday 30th September 2002
Oxford will be without Flash Gordon for the short trip to Charlton tomorrow in the Worthington Cup.
Cardiff will not allow him to be cup tied, Oxford do have Andy Scott back from suspension anyway,
So it will be Scott and Oldfield/Manny up front, Manny had a great game at York, So Atkins might go for a
3 Pronged attack, though when we went to 4-4-2 on Saturday, we dominated the game.
Oxford have sold their allocation of tickets that they had at the club, Anyone else now wanting to go will have
to buy their tickets at Charlton on the day.
Fans are advised to leave early, there is a tube strike tomorrow, so no underground trains, it will be very hectic
in London, we will be leaving around 2pm from Oxford, it is advised that you leave no later than 3pm.
Parking is restricted at the ground, So good luck.
Oh and if Oxford win tomorrow, I will buy them their Orange Squash for the rest of the season.........
god, that will cost a fortune.......hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe.
