Ramon Diaz continued the 2005 unbeaten run, but sadly it was in a 0-0 draw that had most the fans and the press pulling their hair out, it was certainly end to end stuff, just kicking it from end to end, Bury had a few chances in the 1st half and Oxford's closest shot come cross hit the top of the goal net, a draw at the break came with great thanks to Chris Tardif who made some great saves which should guarantee him the fans man of the match again for the 2nd game on the trot.
2nd half was much of the same, Doudou came on at the break to replace Rob Wolleaston in what was Wolly's first start under Ramon Diaz, in all their were 4 players starting for the first time under the new management, Also Jon Ashton, Lee Molyneaux and Steve Basham who was later replaced by Jamie Brooks, Brooks had a couple of breakthroughs but was muscled off the ball in the area, Doudou made a couple of darting runs down the left wing only to be upended most of the time, Oxford again hit the top of the goal net on 2 occasions and Bury missed a sitter right at the end, it was easier to score but Swailes blew it high and wide, Tommy Mooney was incensed at the end when Marriott in the Bury goal handled the ball outside of the box, the ref just waved play on as his assistant stood close by and ignored it, Moons got a booking for his persistent barracking of the ref and then that was the end of this goalless spectacle.
Great support again from the travelling Ramon Diaz Yellow and Blue Army, 344 in a 2873 crowd, great going so close to everyone going back to work, everyone at the club will only remember one thing from this game and that was the volume from the Away Stand. Well Done.
