free online games Sunday 25th January 2004 Oxford are now 6 points behind League leaders Hull City after they won 2-0 yesterday at Cheltenham, but all is not lost as we have 2 games in hand over them and will draw level providing we win both those games, Mansfield came within a point of us(52) and have played the same amount of games, so all is to play for when Kidderminster visit the Kassam stadium on Saturday with Wayne Hatswell, I hope wayno gets a good reception from our fans as he is a genuinely nice bloke and didnt do anything wrong in his time at the Kassam, I will be speaking to him before the day to wind him up a bit, nothing out of the norm.......... Saturday at the Kassam could be a very emotional day if all goes to plan for the club, they are trying to get Legendary Physio KEN FISH to the game as their guest of honour, if they manage too then there will be a few tears shed from the older generation of fans that remember those good old days when he ran onto the field with his bag to attend to the players, the best of the day though was when Maurice Evans told him to go up the famous Wembley steps in his place, which in my eyes is still regarded as the biggest gesture I have ever seen in football, Mr Fish will be 90 years young the day before the Kidderminster game, so it would be a great day for him. and us of course. Oxford lost their friendly with Derby County at their training ground yesterday by 1-0, all the players had a good run out and will probably do so again in the week if they manage to arrange their friendly with Hereford. Saturday 24th January 2004 Sorry for the lack of updates folks, I am currently in the process of moving house, so the site has to take a back seat whilst stuff is getting done, don't worry though as it won't be for long. Not been much to report this week though has there, I was going to Derby today for the friendly, but Derby wanted to play a few players that they are looking at and didn't want any press there to know who they were, Oxford were also trying a few things, like giving players who haven't played for around 3 weeks a game to keep them match fit...... Oxford should be playing a friendly with Hereford on Monday, this will probably be behind closed doors again to save on stewarding and other costs. Our Home game with Scunthorpe originally for today will now be played on Wednesday February 11th kick off 7.45pm Monday 19th January 2004 Thank you to Andy (Womble) James who came up with a Conference team full of Ex United players, these all played in the Conference on Saturday afternoon:- How about this for a OUFC team McCaldon, Ricketts, King, Richardson, Bolland, McGregor, Cook, Durnin, Sylla, Forinton, Omoyinmi. all the above played in the conference on Saturday. Oxford have arranged two friendly matches for this week, One will be on Wednesday against Northampton Reserves(Time and place to be announced) and the 2nd will be at Derby County and will be behind closed doors, this will not be at Pride Park but at another venue, probably the Baseball Ground. Oxford have also been drawn out to play Thame United in the Quarter Finals of the Oxfordshire senior cup, the match will be played around February 14th and will probably be at Court Place Farm but that has not been confirmed.
