for free online games Tuesday 29th March 2005 Still no news on why Ramon Diaz and Horacio Rodriguez were not at either sCUNThorpe or the Orient match, the players are also reportedly asking questions about the future of the club as we go into the last 5 weeks of the current season. However OUFC River Plate take on Team Orange in the Wheatley 5 a side league tonight, with the Kick off at 9.20pm!!!!!! and are hoping to bounce back after defeat last week. Pictures from the Orient game are on this link Oxford had fans from across the other side of the world at the Orient game on Bank Holiday Monday, The Mallett family were out in full force for the day, Timmy Mallett and his son Billy were joined by relatives from Australia that are over for their Hols, they are also hoping to take in the Macclesfield game at the Kastad next Wednesday before going home, I met up with them after the game and introduced them to Chris Tardif in one of the executive boxes, they put Tards through some easy and tough questions about his career and his time at Oxford and then got autographs, they liked what they saw at the club, they are used to watching Aussie Rules football, so they were nearly at home in talking to Tards-seeing he is the only one that can pick the ball up and kick it....Hope to see Sarah, Ian, Josh, Timmy and Billy Mallett at the Macc game, where hopefully they will get to see a U's win... Chris Tardif, Ian, Josh, Timmy Mallett, Sarah and Billy Mallett and lucky charm. Timmy Mallett stopped for autographs after the Orient game. Monday 28th March 2005 Oxford were cruelly denied another win today even after going 1-0 down in the first 12 SECONDS of the match to a Lee Steele goal, the defence were all at sea, so were most the fans and the press, though Steele put the ball away well from a tight angle. Oxford got back into the game 16 minutes later through Steve Basham and then after the break Tommy Mooney put the U's in front, but late on the O's drew level with a badly deflected shot that broke the U's hearts, just before moons put the ball in the net for the lead the U's had a blatant claim for a penalty ruled out when the ref was close at hand too, a draw in this game would all but finish off any hopes of reaching the playoff's, the U's will now just have next season to look forward to now, whoever will be in charge, Radio and fans talk after the game was rife with rumours that Ramon Diaz and Horacio Rodriguez had gone and were not coming back, though talk in the club was that they were out of the Country with Family commitments, until you hear differently I would believe the last. ![]() Penalty claim for handball just before Mooney put the U's in front against the O's. Sunday 27th March 2005 Still no news from what happened at the end of the game on Friday at sCUNThorpe, the police went into the dressing room as we were in the tunnel after the game and said they were going to question the players and find out if they wanted to press charges and that was all we heard, the players were not very happy about it though. Pictures from Friday are at this link Saturday 26th March 2005 Oxford came away with a point from Glanford Park last night but it should have been all 3, right at the death sCUNThorpe snatched 2 points away when there was a lapse in the U's defence and after a knock on by Ex United defender Andy Crosby, Baraclough was waiting at the far post to slot home and break the U's hearts, this game was end to end and was 100% on the Entertainment Scale, sCUNThorpe had most of the play from the start, but then the U's got into the game and were on top when Tommy Mooney pounced to put the U's in the lead, that totally shocked Scunny and their fans, but at half time they were all talking about Mooney's great goal. The Great game though was marred by a sCUNThorpe fan running onto the field to manhandle Chris Tardif, the fan was arrested and the Police were collecting statements after the game. Wednesday 23rd March 2005 Oufc River Plate actually lost their match last night 6-2 after an administration cock up, it was first reported as 5-2, but someone who told me the final score couldn't have been watching the game, lol, I won't go into details of the game out of respect for the rest of the team and for fear of saying something about the opposition I might but WON'T regret. Bad news for Jamie Brooks being out now for the rest of the season, Jamie had not featured recently and has gone into hospital for an operation on his Hip which he injured in the match against Brizzle Rovers at the Kassam Stadium, even bigger blow seeing that he was in the top 50 best players outside the Premiership in a poll in the 4-4-2 Magazine recently for his fine work after coming back from his long lay off with Guillaine Barre Syndrome. We all wish Jay a speedy recovery. Oxford United will play Oxford City at the Kassam Stadium on April 19th in the Oxon Senior Cup, kick off 7.30pm, Executive Boxes will be £100 for 10 people ( With NO food or Drink in Boxes), Drinks only available at the Headington Bar, South Stand Lower Tickets are priced at £5 Adults and £2.50 Children and OAP's, it will be the first time that these two teams have met in the cup final for 57 years (1948), back then the U's won 1-0 when City were the superior team. Monday 21st March 2005 Dave Woozley has joined Yeovil on a months loan after their Injury nightmare got worse the weekend, Already without Scott Guyett they will be without 2 more defenders so Woozley will be there probably until the end of the season. Woozley has not been getting in the U's team and United don't have to play the Glovers so there will be no clashes, with Mateo Corbo, Jon Ashton and Leo Roget at the club the U's have cover, he will probably only be called back at the last resort. Oxford have signed Amine Karam until the end of the season, the pacey French winger likes to play behind the strikers and has impressed in the 2 games he has played in the reserves, he will wear the number 35 shirt. Sunday 20th March 2005 Pictures of yesterday's game were uploaded earlier, but due to a technical problem I was unable to put the link up, sorry for the delay. Oxford vs Boston Pictures Saturday 19th March 2005 Oxford had a great day in the sun today as they beat the Americans at the Kas Sam Stadium, 2 great goals from Steve Basham and a clean sheet from Chris Tardif helped the U's beat Boston and make it 5 teams on 50 points now in league 2 including Oxford and Boston. Great team work, great passing and great control on the ball brought the U's all of the points to add more misery onto the shoulders of Pilgrims keeper and Ex United loanee Nathan Abbey, he had a torrid time in front of the U's fans in the 2nd half and was glad when the final whistle went. ![]() After the game I met up with my Hero and all time Favourite United player Gary Briggs in Executive Box 28 as he was a guest of Friends of mine and he also unveiled the box in his name before the game, he enjoyed the game and the reception he got from the crowd before the match. Myself and Gary Briggs Gary Briggs and friends outside Box 28 which he unveiled in his name today. Friday 18th March 2005 Happy Birthday to Liam Fisher, hope you have had a great day and don't get too drunk tonight, Hope the U's finally get a win near your Birthday after many years of not getting one for you. Tommy Mooney returns tomorrow to the forward line totally refreshed after his week off last week, Chris Hackett who played up front in his place will go back to his usual wide position and at 18-1 will be trying to get on the score sheet again. Wednesday 16th March 2005 OUFC River Plate lost their first game of the season last night in a closely fought match that saw the lead change 4 times with Nationwide winning the match with 1 second to go, 6-5 was the final score and now makes it 2 wins and a loss in the 3 games so far in the Wheatley League, So the Yellows must bounce back next week. Oxford United beat Thame 5-2 in the Oxon Senior Cup at Court Place Farm last night, Goals from Davies, Wanless, Morgan and 2 from Raponi Cancelled out a mistake from Clarke in goal after 10 minutes, before Thame got another consolation before the end, The U's now face the winner of Oxford City vs Witney United in the Final next month.
